help with vampire wars
Vampire wars by Zynga is a game that I play on Facebook. It is not my game but I do play (and very much enjoy) and I am offering help and advice for those who are just starting out! This is all about stuff I have learnt via trial and error and through some other players.
I have learnt alot from this game and unfortunately the damn thing keeps changing. So when I have learnt more, the more you will find to read about.
Blood Points. What are they?
First and foremost, you need blood points! I also like to call this money. In order to get more money you need to do three things. Missions, Combat and Purchasing minions. I recommend doing enough missions to buy enough minions. Your minions should be purchased ten at a time. Why? The price of minions goes up with each purchase. Would you buy only one candy bar at the price it was knowing the price would rise? Heck no! You would buy as many as possible to last you unti you could buy more candy bars! Same rule applies here.
Clan? Do I really need one?
Another vital thing to have is a BIG clan. This will deter other vampires attacking you in combat, this will protect you and prevent you losing your precious blood points. The other point of having a large clan is to help you win fights in combat and steal abilities and blood points. You can get larger clans by joining vampire wars size increase groups on Facebook. I highly recommend doing so. The bigger the clan th stronger you become as a vampire.
Getting blood on your hands.
Speaking of combat, there are a few things that need to be known before you end up hitlisted or dead. The best way to go with combat and increasing your skill rank and experience is to go after vamps that have a higher skill rank than you. Let's say your skill rank is 1,500 you would want to get a vamp with a skill ranking between 1,515 and 1,555 with lower clan numbers than you. Any higher and you are more likely to lose the battle and your money.
Now there are a few "unwritten rules" in regards to combat. Rule #1 never ever hit a vamp more than three times. You will get hitlisted which means a much bigger vamp than you is paid to kill you! Rule #2 If you get hitlisted go after the person who set the bounty not the bounty hunter!!! Rule #3 If you broke rule #1 and got hitlisted leave the bounty setter alone. The bounty setter is more likely to tell their clan you are hassling them and post your link on their clan wall which means you will be getting killed constantly.
Abilities and Their importance.
Ok so that covers combat missions and minions the next thing you need to work on is abilities. You can get abilities by doing missions, especially if your "active magic" is Lilith's kiss. Some abilities can be bought others, you can get through Akem's Gamble. Then there's Pyrokinesis. Now the best way to get "pyros" is by gifting. This is true. So you need to "maximise" your gifting. I found the best way to do this is by playing "ability pong". How do you play ability pong? Get a clan member online and ask them if they will play "fang pong" with you!!! Basically what you need to do is send the same ability back and forth. Santa will come and gift you a pyro. The more you do this the more pyros you get. Or you could always gift from the kindness of your own heart and see how that goes.
The improvement of abilities is also a must. For instsance when purchasing fangs yo uimprove them to "better fangs", "greater fangs" and "superior fangs". The better your abilities the better vampire and adversary you are. It is most definately worth doing.

what is the significance of having not just skill mastery but quantity? if you buy one in each you can never run out, right? so what is the point in getting 100 of them, or more?

-- You use 1 of *each* of your *best* ability (Offense, Defense, Movement) for *each* member of your clan. So, if you have 100 clan, and 100 Pyrokinesis, you use them all. If you have only 50 pyros, you'll lose to someone with prehaps 75 clan, and 75 pyros.

Hi nikkiedwards. If you are having problems finding clan members dont worry any longer!!! If you re playing VW via Facebook I highly recommend using one of the clan growth groups. The sleep deprivation experiment is a good one. If you type in Vampire wars in the search bar groups wll come up. Another thing you can do is ask your clan to pimp you out. I bought favor points to upgrade the outfit my avatar was wearing and got my preferred avatar booted and replaced with that default redhead and a message that my new avatar was "pending approval"...do you have any idea what is up w/that? why would they need to approve my changes when they sell me the points then allow me to purchase changes and then allow me to make changes? I don't understand and I am getting frustrated with all the cheats these games have in them...like losign all your energy when you level up even when you BUY points to purchase more energy..that one gets my gourd...this avatar thing, is merely irking my squid at this point but gourd city is just right around the bend. It seems likely to me that pretty much anything you PAY for is potentially screwy...I am not going to get any "tasty" points for that default character for Pete's sake, my new one is AWESOME and so far, totally unique...I want to show her off but when I try, the redhead butts in every time

Unfortunately that's Zynga. Everytime I change my avatar's shoes My avatar pends approval. I have no idea why they do it. I know that it takes a while and your re-vamped avatar will be back on her feet in no time. What Zynga should have thought of before adding judgement is the pending time for avatar approval but as usual they didn't.

how can i restart vamp wars?
So far all I can come up with is that you cannot restart VW. You can reallocate your stats, using favour points (go to the elders)another option is to sell blood-thirsty abilities and spend your money on minions to generate positive blood flow.
If this does not interest you, well you could always try a new FB account and ask your clan to re-add you. Fb doesn't think to highly of this though, So you didn't hear it from me.
Remember blood runs thicker than water.
Remember to judge your clan members Tasty +2 once your health is under 20 and you are not subject to attack. Also by judging the 3 random vamps on the page when you click Judgement, you will eventually get "Cross Running Waters" after you have judged enough Vamps. I do it constantly when my health is well below 20 and have over 80 of these abiities which are better than all but one of the Movement abilities you pay for and there is no upkeep for them. Also Favor points are valuable to purchase rare abilities that are usually offered for 25 to 30 Favor Points. Don't waste them to buy blood or change your avatar. They don't come that easy. Once you have a significant blood flow, don't bother banking your blood as it will cost you 10% which can very easily be more than you might lose in combat. Every time I go into Vampire Wars I click on missions and complete as many as I can and then go to the bazaar and click minions and buy as many in blocks of 10 as I can. Only deviation I may take from this is to buy additional abilities when I get a new clan members.
Could someone please tell me how many levels are there for each skill?
I just started playing and am wondering because I'd like to totally finish the fledgling skills before starting the neophyte's... but that might not be possible.
Ex. Feast on a Human's Blood
Level 2 Mastery: 40%
That's me now... How many more levels to go?

Mazhe Different levels have different missions that is just how it goes. If you are only a fledgling I suggest you just keep doing what you are doing and work on building your clan size and your skill ranking. It's not all about levelling up. If you are aweak vamp when you get to level 70 they will all eat you alive.
When your energy runs out start combatting ok? Being at a lower level and working on your vampiric strngths is a must. So many people work on going higher and higher up in levels that when they get attacked they always lose.

Can't get all of the jobs to show on my computer at the Adept level. Only three show and I have completed those. Also my timer does not work to open chest. Can't do it. I have asked for information but get back only irrelevant information. Anyone know how to help me?

Willow, you obviously need to gain in levels before more will show. Keep doing missions and combatting and they will eventually appear. I also highly recommend that you use this time to build your clan. Once you get to level 70 you will get attacked all the time soget your clan to a big size.

I wanna have a big clan, but I don't wanna add 500 random ppl to my FB profile when I don't know who they are... Is there any other way?

I realise that the game is called vampire wars, however there is a little code of conduct. There is no point in apologising if you have stolen their money and put them in zombie mode, and one single tasty vote is not going to help any matters either. Find some morals and ethics I say.
Katjusa Yes you do have to add everyone as a friend, however, once these people have joined your clan your can delete them from your friends list, but doing that involves missing out on chest items and so on.
I have found that my clannies tend to leave me and mine alone. Most vamps are respectful of the fact that you may have friends or family and tend to keep to themselves. Hope that helps.

The minion thing does not work like that any more. if you are to buy ten at a time you will get charged the same as if you bought the singly.
What level do I have to be in order to buy items in the avatar shop for friends?
Ok, stupid question I think, but how do I see how I've been judged? I have been judged, but can't figure out how to see them. Help!
you can buy avatar items for FP and gift them to friends when you reach level 25 - no sooner (at lover levels, I think from level 20 onwards you can gift only those avatar items that are purchased for blood, not Favor Points (FP)
I can't buy a coat for my girlfriend. 10 favor points and don;t let me choose the "buy for a friend" option.. Why?

Is it even worth buying many of the "Bazaar" available Abilities? It seems that the mission abilties are so much stronger that it's a waste of blood to even buy the ones in the store. Thoughts?

Hi :) My question is do you know why can't I buy for a friend any avatar item that costs favor points?
The same thing is happening to me. You can do it, I've done it before, but i think it's a matter of level. I have a few accounts and the ones where I'm on level 25 or higher give me the option to buy something for a friend. Less than level 25 won't let me do it. So, maybe that is, I don't know... :\

I dont know why either. thats zynga for you. Have you tried registering a complaint with zynga? I would definately contact them as this can be a serious fault in the game. Especially if you are a 'paying player" I strongly suggest that you contact them. Thanks for stopping by.

how do you upgrade your minions? :D i have greater law firms, bla bla... it was normal before o.O HOW? lol

I have not heard of upgrading minions. But what I will tell you is that Law Firms won't pay off as well as the park joggers and bums. Law firms are a class D minions and don't have a good return in investment.
What I would recommend is only having 10 law firms 30 SWAT teams 60 Fraternities and 50 of each class A which is your bums, your joggers, mental patients cops, hackers bank tellers etc. I would also recommend going to the Zynga website and looking in the discussion forums for any new things that are coing along. The upgrading of minions are by name only, no increase or anything. And it's connected with upgrading abilities. Don't know why they added it since it's completely useless basically.

@Maria, FB and VW have been playing up for weeks! I dare say that they are trying to fix something that is not broken and are updating everything.

Good information, but please format it so it is readable. Make a BIG first paragraph as an introduction. Then add some more text capsuls don't cram all of this text into one capsule, Put all of your information into different topics as well with a nice Heading so that a user can find information they want without going through the entire wall of text.
Other than that nice job can't wait to see more work by you! It gets easier to make user friendly content as you get more experience.
