young reckless drivers

This is a problem on any city street. In any school zone, In any country that has roads and cars is young drivers with a total disregard for the law. I hate to be joining a band-wagon here, but this problem is pandemic in every corner of the globe. Young people in control of the most deadly weapons in the world. Cars.

Young people do more often than not drive completely wrecklessly. It seems that the worlds youth is more interested in the power of their machines than the general safety of themselves and every other driver pedestrian in the universe. Is it really so difficult to have consideration for their fellow humans in this great race?

Speeding in school zones

It seems that even with heavy penalties for speeding near schools really aren't enough. How many fines have people received for flattening the accelerator in a school zone? Does it stop them? The answer to that question my friend is NO.

More and more young people around the world are either driving un-licensed, with false licenses or just disregard the law in general. The idea of killing a small child does not stop them. They just speed on in their machines without a care in the world.  Seems a bit selfish don't you think?

How do we stop the young and reckless?

There is no real way to stop the young and reckless without a dictatorship or extreme penalties. Either that or we wait for a young driver to kill someone, then maybe to learn how to drive properly.

It's an issue that needs to be assessed desperately before anotheryoung driver kills someone. In some countries this has become so pandemic that the age to begin driving has been moved up. Also the amount of "practice hours" have been increased to ensure that young drivers are not totally unqualified to be driving.

In my country young drivers caught speeding more than once (obviously alot over the initial speed limit) get to witness a sight, that would make many cringe. Their cars get crushed. Is this really enough??

What is the limit of penalising?

In m own personal opinion, if a young driver is caught driving in a reckless manner than maybe, the universal law should be the confiscation of the said vehicle and one weeks jail. Of course this punishment could be worse dependant on the provisions on just HOW reckless the driver happened to be. For instanc I had seen a car just last sunday driven by a young driver who was going too fast around a corner. He had ploughed through the back fence of a residence ruined their gardens and destroyed ther back patio. THANK GOODNESS NO CHILDREN WERE IN THE YARD AT THE TIME. What will his punishment be?

He will probably receive a $2000 fine. ose his license for 12 months, maybe put on a good behaviour bond. WILL THIS STOP HIM FROM DRIVING? I would have to say no. When ther is a will there is a way and he will probably find it.

We need harsher penalties for the young and the reckless. Thats for sure.

As I am still a teenager (for a short time) I hate it when people do this... it sucks because they bring a bad name. Everyone always thinks that I'm all wild and crazy with a side of rage which just isn't the case. It is there though seeing as how we all went through Highschool you know that kids just drive like that to either impress someone, or just because they are invincible. All it takes is one time of them being wrong and BAM they are dead... You try to tell them so many times and it just doesn't work *sigh*

Hi Dangazzam. Unfortunately that is the case all around the world. Here in australia we have what we call "P" platers. These drivers account for 75% of accidents on the road. I am a P plater and I haven't had an accident in 5 years!!! Unfortunately too many people ar in suped up cars that they cannot control and wind up in fatal accidents. It's just the way of it mate!!!
